big warehouse with lots of costumes by James on June 23rd, 2009 on Pure Costumes

I needed a costumes fast and didn't know where to turn until I realized Pure Costumes was just around the corner. Hidden in the the City of El Monte. It took a while to find it but it's worth the look. Lots of costumes to choose and I am pretty picky myself. So I definitely recommend it to all my friends. Oh, did I mentioned their prices are a lot lower than Party City?

Gasoline Alley has helped me from school functions to Halloween costumes. Everything in the store has a place and its cheap, too. I highly recommend coming here to rent costumes.

The main costumer is a chain-smoker who smokes around the costumes, and you can definitely tell. Their customer service is TERRIBLE; the contact person (I think it's ****, although sometimes it's ***) will fly off the handle at any little thing! He's a complete ******. Don't buy from this business; it's a waste of time.

My son was in a play at school and need to get a Benjamin Franklyn costume. I was completely lost as to where to go to get such a thing. I am a single father trying to balance a career with a child. I need all the help I can get. My son went on google and found Bruna Costumes. I spoke to the lady and she said she had something for my son. She said to bring photos and I got some off the internet. She pulled a shirt from one costume, and a vest from another, knickers and a wig and the costume was wonderful. My son got a really good grade and he said he was so happy and confident to be on stage because the costume was so nice. I am grateful to Bruna for helping me through this .

Balloons are nice, but the owner lady was very short and not nice to deal with. Her communication came off as ...she didn't need the buisness.......to the point of rude...I'd rather more money to a a nicer person..HA!

I am shocked at how badly this store has gotten over the last few years. They're located almost across the street from that old adult book store place in West Ashley and they have a big sign up in front of the shop depicting a half-naked girl in high heels so that just looks trashy. That might be ok in the red light district or Vegas, but not in Charleston on a main road. Inside the dark musty store, the costumes are in very poor shape - many are dirty, faded, torn or hanging out of bags. They are mostly "adult" products in there - lots of latex and rubber stuff and spike heel boots that should be kept out of childrens' sight, if you know what I mean. I'm surprised they don't sell lube in there to put the skin-tight costumes on - yuck! I went in there recently to inquire about a party rental and when I was shown one of their bounces, I was disgusted at all the dirt and mildew on it that I would not put my childrens' health at risk by renting from them ever. Those people need to call it quits or maybe take up a new hobby such as opening a strip club?
